4. The nominee shall answer the questions, all in the spirit of fun! - Check!
1) Why do you blog?
I blog because I want to make a difference. If sharing my story - the good, the bad, the painful, the happy, all of it, helps even one person, then I'll have reached my goal. As I know this has already happened, I continue to blog because I enjoy writing, and am enjoying meeting new people in the blog-o-sphere!
2) If you were trapped on a desert island, what book, DVD, food, cartoon character, and childhood game would you bring?
Umm..... can I say that I'd bring my iPad, a wireless hot spot, and a solar recharging station? Then I'd have all the entertainment, books, and distractions I'd need!
Oh, that kind of answer. Well then..... let's see......
Book: Can I have a series? Can't pick just one book.... at least not easily. Ok. One book. Every Soul a Star by Wendy Mass. Series? Harry Potter.
DVD: American Eats Series. History Channel rocks.
Food: Cereal. Cereal and chocolate.
Cartoon Character: Calvin and Hobbes - I'd never be bored!
Childhood Game: The game of Life!
3) Share a funny joke or one-liner.
The past, the present, and the future walked into a bar. It was tense.
:)
4) What is your favorite thing about yourself?
Tough one..... it'd have to be my ability to connect with my students and make learning meaningful for them.
5) What one word best describes you?
Thinker. Explanation here.
6) If you could have a lifetime supply of any candy/candy bar, what would it be?
Almond m&ms. Or peanut m&ms. Or mounds bars. Yeah, maybe mounds bars.
7) What fictional character do you relate to most?
Easy! Wrote a whole post about it. You can read it here.
8) If you were to write the story of your life, what would you call it?
Well, I already have the title picked out, and the blog site reserved..... so let's just keep that between me and my therapist for right now, k?
Congrats on your award! I would totally have Reece's peanut butter cups with me on the island.
ReplyDeleteFound you via NaBloPoMo. We're halfway there!
If you like to write haikus, please add one about NaBloPoMo here: http://anotherjennifer.com/a-haiku-or-4-for-nablopomo/ :)

DeletePD,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! This is my first ever award and I must confess to also blushing. :) I so appreciate the recognition. ~ AG
AG - you are so welcome! blushing seems par for the course for these blog-wards :) xoxo
DeleteAww sweet girl this is so lovely of you, Im very flattered and moved by this. Ive gone all warm and fuzzy at your loveliness.
ReplyDeleteOk so here goes...
1) Why do you blog?
I blog for lots of different reasons really. I blog because it took me a really long time to find my voice and learn to use it. I wanted to put it to use to share the good the bad and the ugly with others in terms of my experiences, the things I have learned and the healing nature of writing. I set up blog challenges because it encourages that and gives people a point to begin to explore and stretch and use their own voices and learn that that voice is beautiful and valid and has a right to speak.
2) If you were trapped on a desert island, what book, DVD, food, cartoon character, and childhood game would you bring?
Hmmm I guess my kindle and a solar charger would be cheating so I'd bring
- Oh my goodness one book??? yikes I guess Id have to say Virginia Woolf 'Mrs Dalloway' (but maybe I'd try smuggle Andrea Gibsons poems in my boots and strap all the harry potter books to my back!!!)
- DVD: Peter's Friends - beautiful film - power of friendship and handling the peaks and troughs of life together - perfectly beautiful and Stephen Fry to boot!
-Food: Do Falafel wraps count as one food?
- Cartoon Character: Cheshire Cat from Disney Alice in Wonderland - no question!
- Childhood Game: Ooo I dont know what its called but the one you make out of paper and move to a number the other person picks with messages written underneath!
3) Two psychiatrists were walking down a hall.
One turned to the other and said, "Hello."
The other one thought, "I wonder what he meant by that." ;-)
4) I like that Im creative - yes with writing and arts and such but more so in my approach to working with clients and my ability to adapt and create what works for them as individuals.
5) What one word best describes you?
Love. Whatever I do it comes from a place of love and care whether at work or home. Sometimes Im wrong, sometimes its a kick up the arse other times a hug - but it comes from a place of love always (well - except when I smack down on the alarm of a morning!)
6) If you could have a lifetime supply of any candy/candy bar, what would it be?
hmmm jelly beans? hmmm maybe chocolate --- oooo Green and Blacks Dark choc mmmmm
7) What fictional character do you relate to most?
Alice from Alice in Wonderland or Clarissa in Mrs Dalloway (hmmm maybe Id need to smuggle Alice in Wonderland onto that island too!)
8) If you were to write the story of your life, what would you call it?
Sisters of the Lotus Flower. My life story is underpinned by my friendships, my connections to others, they supported my recovery, theyre my family and as much as its my life and my story - it wouldnt be what it is without them. And the lotus flower - a metaphor for healing!
LOVE the Alice connection - such a fun one! And the psych joke - priceless! Hope things are settling down and you're doing well! xoxo
DeleteOh my gosh! #blushing
ReplyDeleteThank-you dear friend for this thoughtful gesture.
I love - The past, the present, and the future walked into a bar. It was tense.
:) Hehe! Very true. I also am a fan of M&M's!
I adore Tracey's psychiatrist joke she wrote here and was laughing historically when I read it!
I am so so so grateful for your friendship Purple Dreamer and am always inspired by you!
Much love always xx
Kylie, I can say the same about your friendship and the inspiration from your quote-searching results too. It's been such a joy to meet and get to know you in the blog-o-sphere! Hope things are well! xoxo

No rush my friend! We're all on our own time frame with life :) Quick tech hint: You go to your layout options, and add a single picture frame. Upload the image in the window that pops up, and you're set! Even if you don't post it in the sidebar, you're still more than worthy of the award! xoxo
