This lyric has been stuck in my head:
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
It took me by complete surprise how profoundly this lyric struck me. My mom is a huge Beatles fan, so I've been listening to them since birth. I enjoy their music, but I'm not a die-hard fan. There is definitely some significance of this particular lyric, the part about these broken wings, and learning to fly? Only waiting for this moment to arise?
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
I love when little messages like this appear out of nowhere. I've read dozens of times that the Universe conspires to help us, that when we are open to it, we can receive guidance and teaching wherever we look. Sometimes I think that I'm just looking for meaning where there isn't any. Most of the time I believe in the messages, quietly but absolutely.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that your moment has most certainly arrived.
I love this "the Universe conspires to help us, that when we are open to it, we can receive guidance and teaching wherever we look."
DeleteBlackbird is such a moving song for me too - I love the Sarah McLachlan version - her voice is so haunting that I find it really suits the song.
ReplyDeleteI hope the song is giving you what you need right now.
I have yet to hear the Sarah McLachlan version - off to look for it!
